CTA Grantee Receives Prestigious Health-System Pharmacy Leadership Award

Thomas Buckley, a CTA grantee and clinical professor at the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy, has been awarded the prestigious American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and Association of Black Health-System Pharmacists (ABHP) Leadership Award. The award will be presented December 8th at ASHP's 45th annual clinical meeting in Anaheim, California. Center Blog


Ageing International Spotlight: "Technology and Aging Project: Training Outcomes and Efficacy from a Randomized Field Trial"

In the special double issue of Ageing International, Amanda Woodward et. al, discussed the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to enhance the aging experience. This study examined whether training provided to adults age 60+ would increase the use of ICTs, and influence participants' social support and mental health. The experimental group reported greater self-efficacy in executing computer-related tasks, perceived greater social support from friends, and reported significantly higher quality of life. Article

Ageing International Spotlight: “An Evidence Based Adoption of Technology Model for Remote Monitoring of Elders' Daily Activities”

Diane Feeney Mahoney, presents a meta-synthesis of adoption of technology and related findings from four research studies with older adults and their informal and/or formal caregivers. Each study led to a better understanding of the key variables that influenced adoption of telephone and Internet based wireless remote monitoring technologies. Article

David Lindeman Presents at the Gerontological Society of America Aging Means Business Forum

The Gerontological Society of America's one-day forum, "Aging Means Business," focused on the changing consumer demands of the 50+ age group and ways to better serve, target, and engage this growing market of baby boomers and older Americans. David Lindeman along with other national experts on economics, gerontology, and consumer behavior engaged in dialogue with national and local business leaders at the forum, held during GSA's annual conference.
